went to see a johns jasperse dance performance at bam.. saw more of the etaher i love. the set was cool. huge mobils made out of various hangers that looked like linked cane glass. otherwise i wasn't such a fan. was not into the score. some parts of it were more compelling than others, but overall. meh. not soo much i want to see in the spring season there.

soon there will be $50 in my bank account for the next two weeks when my credit card bill is due and it equals the amount of my paycheck.

had a crazy and unnecessary cultural experience last night. ended up driving around kew gardens hills in search of falefel motzi shabbat. seriously so many jews. i am so glad i'm not a teenager there and i refuse to go through that experience again. even worse doing it with two israeli males. and at one point we were in a good looking place-decent atmosphere and food, and then we ended up at the worst dairy place on the strip. blah. met marathon's older brother. think it went ok.

was supposed to go hiking yesterday but the weather sucked so just hung around and ended up at the park in the late afternoon where the light was really pretty. but feel like i missed my chance to go leaf watching. maybe next week. but must work on thesis fuck.

what was the point of this post?

my coworker-the art teacher-an artist cut my hair this afternoon. i am so pleased. the ends are cleaned up layers exist again. yeah yeah yeah. but i did need to sit there for 2 hours while she cut it to her perfection. that was a little long, but we ate oatmeal with her adorable boyfriend first.

went to a sheva bracha for a coworker this evening. tomorrow she is throwing one for the entire middle school during lunch which is pretty cool.

there is a sox party going on in my living room leading me to watch the world series this evening.

supposed to go hiking on sat with marathon, but it looks like its going to rain-annoying.

turtles!!

i saw at least 5 today on a log in the lake at prospect park. it was awesome. i also so some kinds of ducks i had never see before and a swan get protective of its kid and screech-sort of at a dog and bear its serious looking teeth. today was so pretty and pleasant out. i had a beautiful walk home from marathon's house (minus the random pain i am having in the ball of my right foot-it feels like something is stuck in it). seriously there was this maple tree that was full of color and various parts of the tree in various stages from green to red and orange and yellow. i had to stop at and stare at it for a while.

happy birthday to marathon's roommate. he turned 33 yesterday her today-random no?

questiuon of the day would you enjoy going on a date to lowes/home depot/etc...

clearly i would. but gourmet grocery stores are also some of my favorite places to waste time.

saw darjeeling limited last bight. it was ok/not bad. i don't love wes anderson. his stuff is way too slow for me i think. it was really pretty though, especially all the blues.

was in washington square park for the first time in a long time yesterday. that place has so much going on during a weekend afternoon its crazy--and new ork and makes me realize i need to get out more.

why can't i date an employed guy?

seriously. what's up with that. unsurprisingly the world's worst tv show has been cancelled, leaving marathon jobless in a couple weeks and with the wga strike it looks like he'll be bike messengering again.
other than that things are going well. i'd say i'm smitten. its nice.
when i got home this morning my roommates both happened to be in the kitchen and put on the 'where have you been missy?" parent face. it was cute.

thesis is due in a month, i'm not ready. ahhhhh.
wedding in dc was really nice. sad that we had to leave early. but renting a car was the way to go.
more to say, but am tired and need to type up comprehension questions, didn't want you to think i feel off the face of the earth.

good vibrations

went to a new coffee shop on monday night. as it was still 80 degrees out we sat out back on the deck, next to the garden. it was nice. when they closed up the place i asked about the huge grill they have and the sign above it talking about its proper use. the barista noted that was only for use when the whole deck was rented out. she said the owners of the place, it was their garden and they were really nice to let people use it. i was a bit confused if she meant the coffee shop's landlord's or the coffee shop's owner. if it s the coffee shop's owner than really it just seems like good buisiness practice...

went to the harvey theater of bam for the first time last night. i am fucking in love with the space. one description calls it decaying grandeur-which is totally a great description. uyou can see the water stains and such, but its also been renovated. although i am not in love with the balcony seating-decent view, but oddly elevated seats and kinda steep feeling.

going to dc for the day for a wedding on sunday. sheesh i'll be tired.

fucked up

so an email was sent to 5 of us from the administration. i meant to reply just to one other teacher. in the reply was some helpful feedback and some true critism, not worded as horribly as it could have been, but still not for the admin's eyes. so i hit reply all and take off most of the names, except for my supervisor-oops. she wrote back a decent reply. but i've still been saying shit shit shit all day over it and don't want to bring it up. i'm sure it will come up at our meeting on wed, and what do i say, obviously i didn't mean to cc on that or i would have written it in a less bitchy and more professional manner?
oops. it could have been sooo worse.

similar email addresses

my email address is first name middle initial last name, and has been for a couple of accounts. before i got work email a few jobs ago i never got whole office emails b/c the director had my address wring-with no middle initial. i just figured out today that i've not been getting some emails from someone b/c they were sending it to the wrong address-no middle initial. at least that confusion has been cleared up.
also when do you switch someone from your junk email addrerss to your real one?

im smitten

with how gorgeous the science barge looked today. i'm not sure how cool i think it is, i'm a little like what's the point, but as a classroom educational tool a floating hydroponic greenhouse that harvests its energy from solar panel is i guess pretty cool. the fact that the solar panels can track the sun was actually pretty awesome. in 7th grade or something we did a nit on hydroponics, and it seemed like an interesting idea, but also always sort of why? (apparently uses a lot less space) AND THERE IS A booth at the union square greenmarket that sells hydroponic stuff.

saw eastern promises last night (also saw two of my students while i was on my date, not sure either of them saw me, need to stop going to the pavilion, never mind that the theaters kinda suck. i actually think i would have liked the movie better if we had gone to bam) i didn't really think it was all that. it was slow, but i did watch most of the violence.

had brunch yesterday for the first time in ages. brunch=good.

i'm sick.

i demand to be better by 4pm tomorrow. date with marathon (of former no nickname) tomorrow at that time.
mollie rose is crashing with me this evening.

oh this crazy heat and humidity needs to go away. my apt feels so gross.

'cause its one of the 10 great neighborhoods according to the american planning associaion. apaprently its in the burgh. the loop in u city made the 10 great streets list. it was cool.

in other news i have 44 days until my thesis is due. i need to get cracking!
