typos, 3rd ave is now the place to be, our internet connection drives me crazy

we mooch our internet, so i guess i shouldn't complain so much or we should people up and pay for it and get our own, but so un reliable and takes for ever. it can be like the old 586 modem days.

just reread my last post. meant to say i have trouble calling marathon my partner, but parenter is a good fruedian slip

dithched 2 shabbes dinner invites and went to concert at bell house last night. such a good venue to see a show. was surprised how relatively empty the place was, totally thought southern culture on the skids would draw a bigger crowd. walking back to the train discovered 2 new(ish?) upscale places that make 3rd ave the place to be. a random up market chinese takeout place. i'll still pass, and a bakery/coffee shop/pie place that i totally want to try out and again another thing to make me wish i still lived in my old neighborhood. this place is ok, but it's also lame.

twins and other things

so off and on for the past few years i have been taking the train to work with a set of identical twins (and thier dad) on their way to school. i am amazed that they are always dressed exactly the same, same backpack, same ipods.... today was the first time i have ever seen em (i'm assuming 5th grade now) that they were wearing different stuff. it took me a minute to realize it was them.

made iced tea the other day, err last night but forgot to put sugar in it. sad. so not satisfying.

forgot that i am taking a hebrew class tomorrow am. this means 1) i need to be at work on time if not early 2) i have a lot less time to prep my 1st class. oops. it will be fine though.

i want to organize a gathering for marathon's b'day. he does not.

umm not that i was ever a big newpaper reader, but i have fallen victim to the plague of the next generation, i cannot concentrate on anything longer than one screen. i NEVER finish articles anymore, which only further plugs into my intellectual ahhhhnesss. (which = i have no idea what is going on in the morning, or opinions on anything nor am i able to critique or reference anything)

going against the () i think i am against bloomberg and his campaign to bad the use of food stamps to buy sugar sweetened beverages. his heart is in the right place, but to say some people, most of which through no fault of their own cannot make their own choices, esp when the market and pricing of calories is sooo fucked up. that is really what needs to be changed to have real impact and lasting impact and not disenfranchise some people (not sure if this counts as disenfranchisement or not)

also my boyfriend, who i have trouble calling my parenter, my manfriend is pretty damn awesome!

brunch weekend

both days. one high and one low and both just as they should be.
rosewater is great for high end brunch. checked out the sunset park diner and donut shop for diner brunch, and was the best diner food i've had in a while and our waiter was super funny. good choice to detour on way back from sludge boat.

its also my fav weekend of the fall in nyc: open house new york! this year going for quality over quantity. but yesterday morning hit a house in clinton hill gut renovated by the architect owners/residents. cool, but too minimilaist for me to live there, but love the style and deck. today a tour of a dep sludge boat, and bike road down there.

off to the noguchi to hear a lecture about the rocks he used in his stuff

except for this damn cold a good weekend. and i successfully made squash soup (actually super easy, although lots of stuff to clean)
now cold please get better...

museum of arts and design never fails to impress

generally their big exhibit is good, well curated and with interesting peieces, and that is what dead or alive was. all the stuff made with insects was great. the other smaller shows were not as impressive, but i think they were also just pulled from the collection.

bike riding schedules got changed so i sadly didn't make it to the whitney, but did get some culture today which makes me feel better.

we'll see how dinner goes tonight and if i actually talk to anyone.

today in addition to being the world's greatest girlfriend, i am being nyc lamest person

hanging out with marathon's family. oy.
but he feels the same way about hanging out with mine, just different reasons.
and most people i would call to hang out tonight are going to bed early for various reasons.

but dude lay off my brussel sprouts.
