all i did in the snow was hurt my back shoveling

there is a 3% chance that we might get a car. marathon's brother is getting a new one, and offered us there's except he forgot to mention that he didn't talk to his wife about it. since neither of them are employed it seems more wise to trade in or sell the car than give it to us for free--which is the only circumstance under which we will take it. so never mind on needing car insurance advice.

still haven't dealt with my landlord. not totally sure how to.

purim in school was a snow day, so we now have take 2 tomorrow for a full day. bleh. assuming i still have those overalls i will be a painter. i will also have to tell my boss i want out...

went to schul for steve's yartzhiet yesterday, saw a couple students. went to rubn musuem today, the artistry of the stuff was pretty awesome.

this week would have been much better if i went to coney island every day

seriously. was only down there for a few, but did some nice reading on the train on the way down and back, and the water was so beautifully blue. i need to go more. seriously it makes me feel like i got away rather than just sat on my ass all week off.

i had more i wanted to say, but don't remember.

tried to go to buttermilk channel for brunch, ended up at frankie's which was yummy. but buttermilk channel looked amazing, like to die for. also i might get a waffle iron.

ok not sure what else i wanted to say but need to do some quick crafting before book club

is there anyone who isn't pregnant?

yikes. i'm not obvious from previous post. and i'm very unclear how i feel about the whole topic for myself. luckily i dont feel the same jealousy/i'm not good enough that i did when everyone was going to grad school or making more money than me.

dealing with were i am going to live, and how i am going to pay for it is enough for me for now (not so sure about the future..but the future isnt here yet)

b.c.

mainly i'm happy to be n hormonal birth control--with the whole not wanting to get pregnant thing. and in general my cycle/periods aren't a big deal, nor were they before i went on b.c. however the time of flow intensity and duration has changed for the worse in my opionin. instead of a ncie oh its here and its strong and then over, there is a slow ramp up random peak and slow decline. annoying in my opinion.

i could really stand for some sun today.

snow can be magical...

looking from columbus circle into central park=gorgeous.

why has the landlord not cashed my checks yet.

so freaking annoyed at the moment.
nice thoughts all gone, it doesn't help that i fucked up on dinner tonight either

isn;t always the way

you clean your shower to show your apt to a prospective roommate. you damn need this person to commit. and then your roommate goes and takes a 20 minute shower--leaving the light on in his room and what will accumulate to be 5 inches of water in the tub, which will slowly drain and leave the tub dirty and full of water for the person.

someone please rent this fucking room!

redo

actually. found my itunes format. oh all these icon choices. but wyep keeps needing to be rebuffered and taking a long time.

hot water back, so many of my roommates dishes done (by me) got some more to do. but think i may engaged in a printing project in the meantime. at least some exploration...
and going to fight the hungver want to order in and make lame soup--not that any of you care, but i haven't had anyone to talk to today and i need some stimulation...

more posts may be on the way. i'm not so vain as to twitter, also i'm too much of a luddite for that...

so much today

last night, for reasons i'll dilvulge in private if you ask, there were thoughts zooming through my head too fast to get out.
went to see the magnetic fields at bam. it was a great show. they are playing town hall next month and i kinda want tickets to see them again. although something they said makes me wonder if they are playing the exact same set on every show this tour, but i also wonder if i actually care. i liked the first set way better than the second, but i'm not totally sure why. maybe because i knew a couple more songs in the first half but i don't think that was it. the thoughts started racing during the 2nd set which could have something to do with it.
i was totally in love with the cello and classical guitar. i mean how can you not love classical guitar? period. and the cello-in some ways it was being played like a bass, and the range of sounds that it was making was awesome. love when i can look at an instrument and see the music being made as its played. i hate going to a show and not being able to see where the music is coming from. if its coming from a computer, i want to see the person on stage pressing the buttons on the mac.

speaking of music, i have a newer itunes format on this computer and i don't like it. they got rid of my preferred way of searching for music on my computer, and closest is the stupid in my opinion, album cover grid view. bleh.

so far not doing so well in my not spend so much money weekend, or not spend it on stupid stuff. took a car home from bam, but under the circumstances much better than 2 subways although the driver was horrible and ran multiple red lights. then took car back to my place to be here in time to show apt. guy isn't going to take it, place looks awful right now. but the heat is back on, so now hot water so i can do dishes.
of course that would require getting out of bed, which could help in hydration, which could help this headache go away and make me feel better. oh the cycle...

its very sunny out, and i bet super gorgeous at coney island, but i don't think i'll be moving before sunset. in some ways that equals fail. but i've got a whole week of vacation now.

is it just bc its pink for the month of feb that i don't like it

i'm not into the believer color scheme for this issue. i wonder if the same color scheme were used in november how i would feel. it's very pink heavy, and i think i'm finding it more cliched and sheesh you too with the valentines marketing in some way. but maybe i really just don't like it.

also brooklyn vegan, in some ways super helpful that there is a ton of info, but if you don't constantly check or aren't music obsessed will miss out on the small percentage of stuff you'd care about. i find in frustrating, i assume others fine the site awesome.

amazing contemporary tapestries and some soda bread

this is not what i call irish soda bread. its not what i ate in ireland, nor made myself back when i could find the mix. this is a rye loaf with raisins, not bad necessarily, but not soda bread. i was skeptical when i asked the guy if he had any left, and he said yes as i looked in the case and didn't see any semblance to what i was thinking of. oh well. supported the farmer's market and got to stop in at the makers market at old american can factory. too bad i was suspicious of the hot chocolate. that would have been a nicer choice.

its is gorgeous out, yet i'm not taking advantage of it. it is cold. but so sunny and pretty. was also just at work for 2.5 hours. was fine. i got annoyed, but think the event went well overall. the parents of the kid i tutor were super pleased with her last test result and thankful to me, so that was nice to hear.

i am currently saving some of my tutoring money and putting it towards dinner at blue hill at stone barns. not sure when we should go. i'll have enough money by march, but not sure about when will best meal/harvest there.

went to a lame PD yesterday. got some good activities out of it though. afterward marathon and i met up to go gallery hop. i think he was a bit disappointed by the stuff he particularly wanted to see, but liked the diane arbus stuff which was not at all like i usually think of her stuff. but we stopped into the james camron or something gallery and they had an incredible exhibit of commissioned tapestries by contemporary artists. in terms of the weaving they were all incredible (and done by prof flemish or flemish method peeps not the artists) and woven by hand and huge. some of them were simply incredible and would have be as images in multiple media.

started watching julie and julia last night, but of course fell asleep. it thought they would take longer on each before switching storylines. hope to watch the rest tonight.
