still no morgan in my future, but i do love wave hikll

i love all the tress there,, and the variety of trees, and how all these tall trees are near each other, looking at the wall of them but they are also so diverse. its so pretty.
it was marathon's first time on metro north. he enjoyed it. and we were even able to find the spyten duvil train station. woo hoo.
apparently the steelers lost tonight or were losing when i talked to my mom. sad.
went to my coworkers' concert last night, i haven't been to one in a long while and this one was sparsely attended so i'm glad i showed up. i have one of her songs stuck in my head in a good way.
i generally really like my job, but this is my first full week of work in a long time and i see myself being a tired pup.

i had a little emotional breakdown on friday night over feeling lonely and wondering about the future. in some ways same old stuff, but also applied in new ways. it drove me to watch lipstick jungle and i saw marathon's name in the credits. woo hoo.

will i ever make it to the morgan?

hopefully but not during these set of days off. maybe one friday afternoon when we start getting out at 1:30, not that i'll be out of there before 3 anyway.
but i am going to go to yoga today. yeah. and a special appt, that i'm not sure what i think of and am bit nervous about

my apt is cold

the heat finally got turned on at marathon's yeah!!!!! his place has been freezing. i think it will still be chilly.
did the tour de bronx bike ride on sunday. 25 miles, my longest ride ever. but it was good and nice, although mainly cold. this is a big fear for riding to work in the winter. i hope to acquire some gear to help with that soon.

one more coop makeup to go.

the middle school kids i hung out with post wedding on sat were super fun. i kinda hope i get to see them again sometime. even though i think their dad is rather intimidating. the wedding was nice, the dj sucked. there was way too much food, too many courses. and the braziallian chocolate balls weren't as good as mk's mom's. i hope they have them at her wedding although i don't remember if they are parve or not.

hmm nay other highlights? the sukkah sleepover was actually pretty fun, and cr coming to sing was awesome. i didn't sleep at all as i was super aware of all sounds and also super freezing. through the grape vine i heard my boss was pleased with my work there, but i know she likes me.

trouble with keys and locks

i need to work on hydration, this is a perpetual need. but i think its the reason i feel asleep instead of going to the morgan to do something fun with my day off. maybe next week.

but i did get one coop make up down. one to go plus the one for missing tomorrow's shift... so two to go. ahh days off next week and soon early fridays.

finally figured out marathon's b'day present now i just need to get it.

as always i probably had more interesting things to say, but now i can't think of em...

in fact i run away from it. i currently have 9 new messages, some of which i should probably listen to...

went up to bear mtn for the first time, have been in the area before. had a picnic up there with the jersey kids and their adorably cute baby. not a great hike, a little walk, but did take in some fall foilage.
and just went to the gym for a little bit, they close early on sunday, so i feel like i moved a little bit today.

went to the budos band show at joes pub last night. they were great, even though i was about to fall asleep before the show and it turns out we kinda know one of the members of the band. the leader i thought was a prick, but he played baritone sax which was fucking awesome and it looks super cool. and i like joe's pub as a place to see a show. even if the drinks are uber pricey.

had a quite full weekend. its weird that i go to work tomorrow, but then have off, and hope to do some serious coop missed shift make ups.

life moves along. my parents are on vacation, but have been calling me everyday. damn internet phone.

brooklyn navy yard and tom otterness studio

that's how i took part in open house new york. yesterday walking around part of the navy yard and going into a few artist studios (a couple of which were exceptionally cool-esp the guy making puppets/props) and then today going into tom otterness's studio which i want to do with a group from school. his stuff is super cool. the tour was a little disappointing b/c i am most interested in process and how this stuff physically gets made and transformed from idea to installation. the people asking questions were all about commercialism and public vs private space. but it was cool to get to go in there. and his website seems to have an explanation of the process. brunch at lobo was ok.
my room is 'sort of' cleaner. and bike bike still isn't fully fixed even after going to the shop twice yesterday and having to pay for my trueing.

back from the west coast

the trip was not as whirlwind as i thought it might be and was pretty nice. i got to see my cousins for an hour which was nice for me.
its hot out there, but i was finding the mountains totally gorgeous and captivating, wish we had done some hiking. went to the beach in santa barbara and tossed a disc with the dog. was quite foggy. passed out that night. after a dinner made by the chef-who critiqued my onion cutting skills. i told him to shove it. i hate shoppng at traer joes. it feel likes all prepared foods to me and crappy produce that is pre packed so you can't pick quantities.
at shul people were much more casually dressed then the east coast. otherwise it was a conservative synagogue...
ate fruits i haven't had before, don't remember their names.

need to get my bike trued.
